Wisdom tooth: Symptoms and remedies for pain and extraction

The wisdom teeth, the last to leave, it can be so annoying and painful. Indeed, the pain of the lack of space in the mouth is often one of its most characteristic symptoms. If the pain is sporadic and inflammation isolated, the most common treatment is antibiotics. However, when symptoms persist and are even so annoying that incapacitate us to concentrate and to perform daily activities, it is attempting to remove it. Surgery should be performed by a professional, as it often is in contact with the inferior alveolar nerve.

Advice after surgery

After the removal of wisdom teeth, symptoms will refer to the passage of time (no more than one week). The pain, inflammation and swelling will disappear. To manage symptoms the dentist usually prescribes a painkiller and an antibiotic. Apply ice to the affected area also helps compress inflammation and relieve discomfort.
